In the list below we show the topics covered in the modules. There are 4 modules - 8 chapters - 23 lessons and over 22 hours of instructional video with me. Most of them is with the green scree where I can change out the background but there are videos where I show how to set up your car for the trip out and a 360 camera inside the car where we drive around the Amish community.

We also cover what to wear and how to talk in this module as we try to prepare you for the visit you will have with the Amish people.
  3. 3
Module 3 - Logistics is the feature here as we use our 3+3+1 template to first find 3 emotional reasons to come here for the mystery and the curious nature of us and the 3 needs as lodging, eating, and points of interest always elevate the experience. Then we see if we can find 1 event going on to couple our Amish Adventure with to have a full day of fun!
  4. 4
Module 4 - Is all about the Amish and chronicling your vacation. We first culminate your knowledge and take you on a ride through the Amish community. Then we talk about telling others about your trip and storing your files to start a vacation file to build memories with. We also talk about next steps and end with a quiz where you can get a certificate to show your friends.

The Benefits Of The Course!

The Progeny Adventure Group LLC owns and designs the courses we make so you are getting a great course that is made by a company who develops many parenting and travel courses.

Benefit 1 - Kids

We who have small kids have the context to make resources and include them in your vacation. We also cover topics with age groups in mind as younger kids will be different than older kids.

Benefit 2 - History

All of us would have lived like the Amish a long time ago. So being able to see the fields and crafts reattaches us to our roots as farmers and workers. We find our inner heart here!

Benefit 3 Agriculture

An Amish farm shows the entire ecosystem in working order. You can see the crops and animals being cared for by the Amish people. Each has chores and work on the farm.

Benefit 4 Community

The Amish live in a community if like minded people who will help each other in time of need. They teach their kids to be helpful to others and take responsibility for taking care of them.

Visiting the Amish needs a plan!

While you can drive around and find places to stop and shop, a well thought out plan will help you come to Ethridge with knowledge! Once you know about their culture and ways you can really add to your experience. If you are planning to stay in a hotel of bed and breakfast and fully commit to a few days with them, then you really need our course!

Pros of learning from our course
  • Our course helps you navigate the cultural differences and gives you the confidence to have a conversation with them.
  • Etiquette and formalities are simple once you learn a few things about them and our course helps you understand the things you can see as well as the things you can't see.
  • Your vacation or road trip through Ethridge can be made way better by knowing your options of logistics! We go through the best places to stay, where to eat, and things to do while you are here!
  • Getting the peace and relaxing feeling that you have been lead through all the steps necessary to plan your trip based on the best information possible so you know how to handle whatever comes up before and after the vacation is over.
Cons of risky unknown behavior
  • While the Amish are here in America, they don't see themselves part of the culture. They are a separated people who see us "English" as outside their community and their way of "serving the world as a mission representative" Our course talks about this kingdom first theology and how it relates to us visiting them.
  • Unexpected conditions and bad planning lead to unprepared outcomes where stress and helplessness overcome the visitor.
  • Our culture has speech that the we believe is find but troubles the Amish people. Many times we deeply offend them and are not aware of it because we English lack the knowledge and believe myths about the Amish people.
  • While going out on your own is fun and exciting, the outcome usually treats the visitation like a farmers market or garage sale where the pushy person is trying to use the Amish people merely as a cheap source of groceries. This makes them feel used for cheap labor.
Conclusion

Having a tour guide and course material will always help someone better than blindly going into the community and not knowing what you are looking at. Our course takes into consideration the complete experience so that you learn the history of the Anabaptist movement from which the Amish came and continues their beliefs and community involvement into the shared experience with us as visitors. We want you to have a wonderful cultural experience with the Amish people here in Ethridge and we believe our course handles everything you need to plan your trip with great information and advice.
